Chapel Down is England’s leading winemaker with a desire to change the way the World thinks about English wine forever by making the coolest, cool climate wines on the planet accessible and contemporary.
Based in the picturesque market town of Tenterden, we source fruit from over 700 acres of our own vineyards across the South East of England to produce traditional method sparkling wines, crisp, aromatic white wines and delicate rosés.
About us
The Chapel Down winery, based in the picturesque market town of Tenterden in Kent, is open to the public and welcomes visitors throughout the year. We offer guided tours of the vineyards and winery together with tutored wine tastings plus a range of experiences for food and wine lovers. The winery boasts excellent visitor facilities, including a two AA Rosette and Michelin Bib Gourmet restaurant ‘The Swan’ and our shop stocking high-quality English produce. Visitors are also welcome to explore the grounds, the beautiful herb garden and vineyard walks.

We produce a world-class range of sparkling and still wines and more recently launched a range of premium spirits made by winemakers. Our sparkling wines are some of the best in World, consistently winning international acclaim. We are proud to supply British icons in some of England’s finest hotels and restaurants, you can enjoy our drinks at great institutions such as The Royal Opera House, The Donmar Warehouse, The London Symphony Orchestra at The Barbican and the Turner Contemporary all of which we support. We are an official supplier to No 10 Downing Street and the official sparkling wine of the Oxford & Cambridge Boat Races.

Our wine garden tour
'The Chapel Down Guided Tour'
Join us for a visit to the Chapel Down vineyards and winery where your experienced guide will take you on a journey from grape to glass, followed by a tutored tasting of our award-winning range of sparkling and still wines.
Each tour takes approximately 1hr 45mins, £25 per person.
Our wines
We strive to push boundaries in our winemaking and innovate wherever possible, our core range includes still single varieties including Bacchus and Chardonnay and our flagship Brut NV. Our multi-award winning Kit’s Coty range of premium wines is produced from one of the finest vineyard sites in England. At the Winery you will find our full range of wines including small batch cellar door exclusives.
